ACT Studios captures more holiday cottages in the West Country

ACT Studios photographer Hannah Hunter has been busy traveling the West Country recently to capture both interior and exterior shots of some of the most desirable holiday cottage accommodation in the south west of England.

StickWick Manor in Devon

Stickwick Manor & Cottages is located in Bovey Tracey, right on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, in what is a truly beautiful part of Devon.

Guests can book the Georgian style manor (built in 1779 by Robert Hole), which sleeps twelve or either of the two neighbouring cottages.

The manor is perfect for large family celebrations or holidays together. Guests can take advantage of the on-site farm shop, as well as the play area or even participate in feeding the farm animals.

ACT Studios was requested to provide 3D virtual tours for this shoot and photographer Hannah commented “the manor and cottages are beautifully furnished – I personally loved the large open fireplace in the Manor’s Lounge and the incredible bathrooms!”

Aish Cross Holiday Cottages in Devon

Aish Cross Holiday Cottages are located in Stoke Gabriel, about 2 miles outside the historic town of Totnes.

Owners Michael and Angela bought the property 16 years ago and converted the original Coach House and Stables into 3 luxury holiday cottages, aptly named The Coach House, The Stable and The Hayloft.

Guests have access to the beautiful orchard gardens, complete with gazebo, BBQ, swings and sun loungers.

There is also a rose garden with new BBQ Lodge (just built this year), which is exclusively for guest use.

Our photographer Hannah commented “I photographed the gardens on a beautiful sunny day and made use of the wonderful tree swing chairs they had – really different!

“I also made friends with their two lovely ginger cats which are very friendly with the guests and managed to get lots of photographs of these two!”

Boscrowan Farm Cottages in Cornwall

Boscrowan Farm Cottages are located in the countryside just outside of Penzance in Cornwall.

The cottages, called Peace and Plenty; Toad Hall and Ring and Thimble, are run by owners David and Elizabeth.

ACT Studios originally photographed these properties a few years ago and Elizabeth was so pleased with our work before that she asked us to return to re-shoot this year.

Photographer Hannah, who stayed overnight in order to complete the shoot, said “What amazed me was the level of detail and care that Elizabeth puts into each cottage. Guests are given fresh flowers when they arrive, as well as local produce (eggs, fresh farm vegetables, local honey and apple juice!).

“We particularly loved the bread machine all set up and ready for guests to use, with fresh bread for your toast in the morning!

The cottages are beautifully furnished, with the most incredible bath in Ring and Thimble! I also loved the open fireplaces in each cottage.”

Hannah also loved Toad Hall Cottage, which has a view of the pond, complete with wildlife, right on your doorstep.

The gardens are also stunning, with a summer house that guests can use and lots of benches with beautiful country views.

South Coombe Country Cottages in Devon

South Coombe Country Cottages are located in Witheridge, Devon – just outside of Tiverton and not far from Exmoor.

South Coombe comprises six wonderful holiday cottages as well as a beautiful and quirky little Shepherd’s Hut, new for this year.

ACT’s photographer Hannah reported “My personal favourite was Orchard Cottage – it has large windows upstairs with beautiful views and I loved the Shepherd’s hut – really unique in design and quirky, it also has a private garden and hot tub.”

Guests can also make use of the on-site swimming pool, sauna, games room and children’s play room. And as South Coombe is also a working farm, guests are given fresh, free range eggs.

Home Farm Cottages in Somerset

Home Farm Cottages can be found in a small hamlet of Barton, North Somerset, a short distance from Weston-Super-Mare and Cheddar.

There are five cottages in total, all recently refurnished with everything you could possibly want – each cottage has Netflix, Superfast Broadband and even an Amazon Alexa!

Hannah particularly loved the Bakehouse Cottage, with its quirky colourful armchairs and beautiful original fireplace – a cosy and romantic escape perefect for two!

Hannah added “All the cottages are pet friendly, with the owners having two little dogs themselves, (I took lots of photographs of them both!) I particularly loved their gardens too, with a large field for guests and pets to use. The gardens are beautiful, they grow all their own flowers which are cut fresh for guests to receive when they arrive. They also have a scenic point bench, with lovely country views of North Somerset, perfect spot for a glass of wine in the evening.”

Sounds idyllic!
